We’re really starting to feel the tinge from our post-Coachella blues. Three days of nothing but music, peace signs, and palm trees can really transport you to a vacation-like mindset. The best part about today was getting to upload 500+ of the pictures taken over the weekend and relive all of the fun through these snapshots in time. Since this was our first Coachella, we wanted to overview each day’s details, fashions, and performers to not only help us for next year, but to also give some insight to the Weekend 2 attendees! Day 1 was the longest, but it was also Emmy’s birthday, which made the day that much more special. It was also a scorcher in terms of weather, but the clouds and light breeze made for a perfect evening full of amazing acts!

On Emmy (right): Free People hat, Ray-Ban aviators, FP Strappy Back bra, The Shop Laguna romper, Urban Outfitters belt (old), Frye boots, Long Lost Jewelry Love Spike Necklace, Vanessa Mooney Pretty Girls Necklace, Gold Jeweled Cuff
We knew we would be running around all day, so shorts and closed-toe shoes were a must! Sarah kept things cool with a feminine edge in her palm-printed shorts and brightly-colored sneakers. Emmy portrayed a more classicly vintage vibe in a printed romper and leather accessories.
Who We Saw
It’s hard to believe we saw 8 bands in the 9 hours we were at the festival on Friday! We had so many bands starred on our schedules, so we were going to make it work. Of course, we made sure to take detours to the water filling and phone charging stations in between, but other than that, we were in a crowd dancing to the music the entire time! Here’s who we saw (in order): MS MR, Grouplove, Haim, Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Martin Garrix, Zedd, Outkast. Who were our favorites from the day? If you’re going to Weekend 2, we would recommend seeing MS MR, Bastille, and Martin Garrix/Zedd (they perform back-to-back).
It was MS MR’s first time performing at Coachella, and they had such great style and sound. Lizzy, the lead MS, was an absolute knock-out with her ultraviolet locks and skin-tight romper (she wore a white fringe leather jacket over it in the first few songs, but eventually took it off) with beautiful pipes to match, making her a new style and musical muse in our books! We got to Bastille a little late after catching the beginning of Haim’s set, and the tent was PACKED. We managed to squeeze our way in, and found ourselves rocking out to an amazing set of music. Our high was Bastille’s duet with mega-babe rapper, Angel Haze, for their new song “Weapon”. And the whole audience kept singing the “ay-ay-oh-ay-oh” backbeat of their hit, “Pompeii” long after the band had left the stage, leaving us wanting more. The last high of the night came from the EDM artists Martin Garrix & Zedd, with their infectious beats and insane special effects. The tent went crazy when Martin Garrix’s “Animals” came blasting from the stage, and Zedd’s recent string of hits kept the audience singing and dancing until the end of the night.
We were zombies walking back to our car well after midnight, but after a late-night food run and long shower, we were ready to live another Coachella day!
Check back tomorrow for Day 2!
